Faridah binti Ahmad Fadzil is the co-founder of Tanamera, a made in Malaysia natural range of spa and lifestyle products that are modelled after Malaysian beauty treatments. Faridah, an Honor graduate of Business Management from Northern Illinois University is a second-generation herbalist specializing on tropical herbs. She has been a guest speaker on various topics on herbal products and industry as a whole. She is also the main formulator for Tanamera range of products and advisor of Malay treatments for various multinational companies. Apart from expanding the Tanamera product range, Faridah also created the Tanamera wellness spa concept, which specializes in providing Malay spa treatments to locals and tourist alike. With the Tanamera wellness spa concept, Faridah mentors Malaysian women entrepreneurs who are keen to set up spas but lack knowledge of operations and marketing of spas.
Apart from overseeing Tanamera Malaysian and export business, Faridah travels extensively to give talks internationally. She has been a guest speaker on various topics on herbal products for biotech seminars since 1999. She has also given talks for Tourism Malaysia and other government bodies on topics ranging from spa industry reports to Malaysian traditional therapies.
Faridah’s passion for the Wellness and Spa industry have led her and a few close colleagues to set up the Malaysian Association of Wellness and Spa (MAWSPA) in 2010 and was the association’s President from 2010 – 2015. After her tenure is up, Faridah remains as an advisor to MAWSPA. Faridah is also one of the Board of Directors for Asia Pacific Spa and Wellness Coalition (APSWC), a regional body which links the national spa associations across Asia Pacific.
